Bon Homie is a compassionate, reasonable alternative to institutionalized care. We’re here to assist families who have chosen to care for older or challenged family members at home. We offer you support throughout the workweek, allowing you to maintain your livelihood and providing you the free time necessary for other commitments.

Bon Homie provides a pleasant protective environment. It is staffed and managed by professionals who really care about the health, safety, well-being and self-esteem of your family member.

Admission is without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, or handicap.

Bon Homie started in November of 1992 with the idea of offering services to the elderly population. We quickly learned that our services would benefit adults of all ages, so we began offering services to individuals eighteen years of age and older. Over the years, we have continually reinvented our program to meet the needs of our community.

We continue to maintain our program to accommodate our Aging clientelle; Sunflower Meadows. Clients that benefit from this program may have had a stroke, are diagnosed with dementia, have a brain injury, have developmental disabilities and are high functioning or are aging but require assistance with ADL’s, or have other diagnosis that require some level of supervision throughout the day. These individuals benefit from large and small group activities but may require some prompting and support to get involved. They also enjoy the social aspect of their day.

The second program we developed was structured for those clients who are faced with more physical, social and medical needs. We named the stand-alone program “Sandpiper Haven”. It specifically serves the increasing number of clients that require hands on care to get involved in every aspect of the program. This program enables our staff to provide appropriate activities to the individuals we serve and to get them more involved and stimulated. Sandpiper Haven offers our clients a safe environment that encourages them the freedom to be themselves. Clients that utilize this program have developmental disabilities. Specific diagnosis that are cared for in the sandpiper program are Cerebral Palsy, seizure disorders and Down syndrome. Clients may also be nonverbal, wheelchair dependent and require total assistance with daily living activities.
