傳說當地得天獨厚，宛若一個大磁場，能匯聚天地間的健康能量，使栽種的農作物碩大肥美，甘甜無比，西班牙人因而將該處視為聖地，並命名為『聖德科斯』。
如今，加州聖德科斯已成為世界知名的有機栽種園地，提供人類安心無污染的食物；而『聖德科斯』也成為追求健康的美好象徵，時時提醒人類要與自然和平共存。
