高雄市政府社會局為服務有輔具需求之市民，委託財團法人平安社會福利慈善事業基金會承辦高雄市北區輔具資源中心，迄今已超過10年。自101年7月身心障礙新制上路以來，中心不斷充實服務內涵，至今已成為涵括「物理與職能治療師、聽力師、外聘視光師團隊、外聘語言治療師、社工師、維修師、行政人員、運輸人員」的專業團隊。可即時提供民眾輔具「評估、福利諮詢、維修、租用、使用教學與訓練、檢測、使用追蹤」服務。透過單一輔具服務窗口，結合勞工局職務在設計、老人福利等輔具服務，及時滿足民眾多樣的輔具需求。
