早期的客家媳婦在敬天祭祖時，會以虔誠的心、靈巧的手剪出各色剪紙來向上天表達誠敬之意，一張張美麗的剪紙都是一份祝福。客家人將日常生活事物發揮最大想像剪進圖裡，福菜或蝙蝠代表福氣、鹿角代表祿、魚代表年年有餘、長壽草或壽桃、烏龜求壽、聚寶盆及元寶求財、人形代表人丁興旺、兩顆心代表雙喜，另外還有如意草、春花、喜花和福氣花等，當然就代表如意和福氣。 梨為薔薇科果樹，原先栽培之橫山梨肉質粗硬，甜度低、酸度高
